How to stop the raw part of a leather belt from leaving dust/dye?

I have a leather belt, pretty thin, and the inner part is raw (almost like suede-ish, know what I mean??) Anyway, it always gets its 'dust' and color onto my clothes. Im not looking for bleeding solutions, the dye isnt the problem, because for the most part, I can wipe it all away (tho the tiny dust gets into the fibers, and causes discoloration) How do I stop the dust residue stuff from getting everywhere?? Is there something I can put on it to stop it from getting all over my clothes?? PLEASE HELP!!!!!
