Anyone else thinks country is in a serious nosedive?

The sorry truth is most people prefer today's crud country to the real stuff. And when today's best, George Strait, says his musical idol is Sinatra, well, I just don't know what to think. I also wonder if faded rock stars like Hootie turned country because they wised up or do they think they can extend their careers because country fans are so dumb we'll accept anything.
